PAD 170 : GOVERNMENT & POLITICS

COURSE EVALUATION

SEMESTER  DECEMBER 2013- APRIL 2014

1.    COURSEWORK : 40%

 a.   Test  : 20%

        20 quiz-type questions will be given. You are required to answer all questions in 20 minutes.

        The test will be held during the third  Seminar (9.2.2014).  See "Quiz for Self- Practice"

        on my website and prepare the answers for all the quiz questions  in advance after

        reading  and revising thoroughly "Understanding Modern Political Terms"  posted on my website.

b.   Written Assignment : 10%

        You are required to answer 5 short questions and 2 long essay-type questions.  The

        questions are based on  the topics covered under the syllabus for the Course and the format

        of the final examination.

        The answers to the questions given must be computer-typed, double-spaced and

        must be submitted to me during the third seminar (9.2.2014).

        Please note you are not allowed to copy  answers from books or notes or other sources. Those who

        plagiarize (menjiplak / meniru) will be penalised (dihukum).

c.   Revision  Exercises (10%)

You are required to answer all the Revision Exercises (14 weeks) posted on the iClass system on a

regular and weekly basis and according to the deadline set. This is a compulsory exercise and only

those who complete answering the exercises will be given the 10 marks at the end of the semester.

2.    FINAL EXAMINATION: 60%

       You are required to answer five (5) compulsory questions from Part A (50%) and two (2)

       essay-type questions  out of four (4) questions from Part B (50%). When you answer

       questions from Part B, you are required to give an introduction and a conclusion.

3.     Participation in i-Class system

          Every student registered for this Course is required to be active on the i-Class system.  You are required to post your

          views, suggestions,  comments, questions, etc  on the i-class forum throughout the Semester. Each student should post at

          least  25 messages each month. 5 marks will be added to your  actual overall marks  (i.e. coursework plus final examination

         marks) if you fulfil (memenuhi)  this requirement (keperluan).
